Aubrey Downer Memorial Orange Home is a friendly, family-oriented home located on a quiet suburban street in the West Gosford suburb of Point Clare.
Set on over eight hectares of lush gardens and spacious lawns, we offer single rooms with ensuites in the Alcheringa Lodge, as well as our separate and secure dementia unit Jeffress Lodge, which offers a beautiful dementia-specific garden for residents to enjoy.
We provide a range of services for our residents, including:
– Dementia support
– Respite care
– Delicious, home-cooked meals prepared on the premises
– Coded keypad entry and exit for the dementia unit.

From the care we provide to the relationships we build.
At Aubrey Downer, we pride ourselves on the excellent care services that we provide to every resident. Our care team is made up of our Home Manager, registered nurses, personal care staff, lifestyle officers and other support staff who work 24 hours a day, seven days a week to ensure you are well cared for.
We are clinically set up to manager low care residents and can provide palliative care, respite care and dementia support. Please contact our home to assess if we can meet your needs. We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have about your care requirements and your care journey.
At Aubrey Downer Aged Care Home, we provide a varied program of creative and therapeutic activities that include music therapy, bus outings, and individual attention for residents who are unable to join in with group activities. Friends and family are more than welcome to join in with any of our activities
We believe it is never too late to make new friends and discover a new hobby. Our activity programs are designed by our lifestyle officers and physiotherapists to both promote movement and exercise, while others provide entertainment and the opportunity to socialise.
Your room will be furnished for you, but we encourage you to bring personal belongings such as photographs and soft furnishings to help you feel at home. There are television sets that you can watch in our common rooms, but you are welcome to bring you own television or radio if you wish.
Enjoying a variety of delicious, nutritionally balanced meals is an important part of maintaining good health. Our cook prepares a wide variety of nutritious, home-cooked meals in our kitchen on site. We offer choices of hot and cold meals, cater for allergies, intolerances and culturally-specific needs, and create a special menu for a theme day each month.

The cost of aged care is dependent on your circumstances and is different for everyone. The cost of your care and accommodation at Aubrey Downer can include the following:
Basic daily fee
This covers living costs such as meals, power and laundry. For some people, this is the only fee they are required to pay.
This fee is set by the Department of Human Services at 85% of the single pension and is indexed in March and September each year. To read the latest schedule of fees and charges go to the Department of Health website.
Means-tested care fee
This is an additional contribution towards to the cost of your care that some people are required to pay, and is based on an assessment of your income and assets.
Accommodation payment
This charge covers your accommodation at Aubrey Downer and is based on an assessment of your income and assets.
You can choose to make your accommodation payments as either:
– a lump sum of what is called a ‘refundable accommodation payment’
– a daily accommodation payment
– a combination of both
